The project incorporates a message of social artivism (activism through art), that of the fight against racism, at an individual and systematic level, which goes hand in hand with a denunciation of “police brutality”.

Themes that, after having socially and culturally shook the United States thanks to the activism efforts of the black lives matter movement, especially after the murder of George Floyd last year, has taken on an international dimension which, given the national news, also affects Italy.

BREATHE’s social message is also:

No More “I CAN’T BREATHE”.

The installation is a tribute to the victims of the systematic racism in which all of human society is unfortunately involved, at every latitude of the planet.

THIS VIDEO SHOWS THE ENTIRE SEQUENCE OF COLOR MOODS THAT ANIMATED THE INSTALLATIONS ON DIFFERENT DAYS. BASICALLY IS A “STAGED” SHOWCASE VIDEO. ALSO THE SOUNDTRACK OF THE VIDEO, PRODUCED BY BURNINGMAX WITH THE USE OF BINAURAL BEATS, HAS BEEN CREATED WITH THE SCOPE OF DRAMATIZATION, AND IT’S NOT RELATED TO THE ACTUAL BREATHE ART INSTALLATION.

The colors of the trees’ breathing play with each other, while the trees breathe at different speeds, and with different colors – two per evening, in order to create a light mixing effect with psychedelic yet relaxing, almost meditative tones.

The colors will change according to the type of music that will be staged each night at the Villa Ada festival. See here below the chromatic associations set for the several musical styles the festival will feature all along this Estate Romana 2021.

Yes. inside the Villa Ada park I’ve built a very Secret Garden that manifests only after dark with hundreds of magical lights, all solar powered, that create a magical secret garden right out the deep darkness of the woods.

The Secret Garden is very hard to find, and I’m not revealing in which area of the vast Villa ada park it is located, sorry, a secret is a secret.

I can just say that only very adventurous people will be able to find it. The Secret Garden is far from any pedestrian and bicycle route, and to get there you will need to go off-trail and start climbing up one of the hills of the park. 

Even if somebody manages to stroll by the spot during the day, the Secret Garden won’t be visible, as the solar powered lights are very well hidden, and will also be off during the day. The lights are equipped with a light sensor that will switch the lights on only when it gets dark – and hanging out off-trail in the woods, climbing hills in the dark it is a dangerous activity, not suitable for anyone.

Will you find the Secret Garden? I hope so, I built it so that a few lucky people will be able to enjoy it. If you do, take a selfie and post it on my social media. If you cannot find the secret garden, you can still enjoy a photo gallery.
