I just turned 50 years “young”, so I decided to celebrate by mixing 50 tunes! Well, at the beginning I mixed 66 songs (as for Class of ’66), but the mix was too long, over the 6h30m, and impossible to share it on MixCloud – so I had to “cut it down” to 50 tunes. This is a chillout mix you can dance to, and a dance mix you can chillout to – wherever you spin it, you’ll find yourself venturing often in psychedelic territories, and moving from techno to progressive electronica, to house, dubstep and more unexpected takes. It’s a 5hrs+ rollercoaster trip – actually… are you ready for it? Burningmax Studiomix: Springtime is Coming The mix kicks off with vintage, progressive and blissful beats, to venture into a psychedelic, ecstatic, acid, powerful yet dreamy rollercoaster. A trip to your inner dancefloor. Welcome to Springtime is coming, my first studio mix in 2016 after recovering my Traktor S4 controller from some interventions to the motherboard, kind of open-heart surgery. This mix was a test for the S4, and I have to say that I’m pretty happy, both with the controller’s performance and with the mixing results! I loved this sound so much that I’ve been listening to it on headphone on heavy rotation for the entire weekend. Which is why I also figured out that there is in fact still a little glitch in the controller’s performance, as some of the effects I have used sometimes have kicked in with a little delay – but I guess that it’s just a technicality, and if you just lose it on the dancefloor you won’t even figure out. And yes, you can dance to this mix while you wait for the next season of Game of Thrones to begin! Springtime is coming, be happy and dance!
