At the end of September 2013 I flew directly from Burning Man and the DPW tear down straight into my favorite European burners community, at the amazing French Burning Weekend. The three-days gathering, actually held in Belgium, in the woods outside Brussels – same place where a few years ago I participated to the Art in Action weekend – is a brainchild of the mighty French Burners community. Here we go, the NeverFuckingStop Festival has finally arrived. My burners friends PiouPiou, Cocci and Matilduz have been planning to create a Burning Man-inspired festival for some times, and here it is. In a sunny spring day, at the Parc de la Villette in Paris, we took over My Boat, a club with a terrace and a view on the Parisienne channels, where artists, performers and burners gathered all day and night in a creative environment. And of course we danced. A lot. I played a starting set as Morphinauts, but I also had the pleasure and the honor to play the closing set of the night. I admit, this DJ set has been particularly furious, a true techno rave like I haven’t been playing for a while, after my exploration of the power-house beats from Suara – but I liked it, and everybody has been dancing like it’s Berling circa 1996. My closing DJ set for the Burning Man-inspired Go Animal party at the Ice Cube Club in Zurich. Unfortunately, this is one of my saddest memories in DJing, as it will remind me forever of a very bad discussion I had with my girlfriend right at the end of the DJ set, that ended up in a broke-up – and now I feel so miserable I wish I never been to Zurich to play the gig. The trance-infused techno mix of this DJset is actually pretty awesome, so I hope that at least it will make someone happy – just not me. Not your average Carnival. In fact, Carnemvale is a traditional off-Carnival party run by some of the most active promoters of the Milan underground scene. This year I have been invited to play at Venduto, one of the events included in the calendar of event, that included live performances, street art, and more. Burning Night Paris is, in my opinion, the best Burning Man party in Europe, being even more intense than London Decompression, and also for the awesome location, the world-famous Moulin Rouge in Paris! This year, for the third time in a row, I played the closing DJ set (5-6 AM) from the main stage of the venue, with all my Euroburners friends dancing front stage, and I loved it!
