I try to keep my music archives organized, but sometimes I bump into “unexplored” or simply “forgotten” directories with plenty of bangers that I actually never mixed. I just own the tracks, as I always support artists and labels and purchase the music I like. Yesterday I rediscovered a generic “bass” directory, and I decided to give it a go.
After a long selection, completed with the addition of a few tracks I recently purchased, I went for a full 3-hours sound journey inspired by the bass. Bass music, post-dubstep, breaks, jungle, acid baselines, UK bass, deep beats, massive trance beats, UK garage and a few more random choices including pop drum and bass tracks, funky disco grooves and a sprinkle of electro-punk – but it all flows, you’ll love it.
There are a few screw ups, I know… that’s because I’m not recovered at all from surgery, and it’s been pretty painful for me keep standing or sitting after the first hour, but I kept going.
One note – the opening track by the Parisian Arab duo Acid Arab is a shout out to both the struggle of Palestinian people, and the fights of French students.
“One for the Bass” is now all yours to enjoy and dance. Pump that bass!
