Burningmax Studiomix: Springtime is Coming The mix kicks off with vintage, progressive and blissful beats, to venture into a psychedelic, ecstatic, acid, powerful yet dreamy rollercoaster. A trip to your inner dancefloor. Welcome to Springtime is coming, my first studio mix in 2016 after recovering my Traktor S4 controller from some interventions to the motherboard, kind of open-heart surgery. This mix was a test for the S4, and I have to say that I’m pretty happy, both with the controller’s performance and with the mixing results! I loved this sound so much that I’ve been listening to it on headphone on heavy rotation for the entire weekend. Which is why I also figured out that there is in fact still a little glitch in the controller’s performance, as some of the effects I have used sometimes have kicked in with a little delay – but I guess that it’s just a technicality, and if you just lose it on the dancefloor you won’t even figure out. And yes, you can dance to this mix while you wait for the next season of Game of Thrones to begin! Springtime is coming, be happy and dance! Here we go, the NeverFuckingStop Festival has finally arrived. My burners friends PiouPiou, Cocci and Matilduz have been planning to create a Burning Man-inspired festival for some times, and here it is. In a sunny spring day, at the Parc de la Villette in Paris, we took over My Boat, a club with a terrace and a view on the Parisienne channels, where artists, performers and burners gathered all day and night in a creative environment. And of course we danced. A lot. I played a starting set as Morphinauts, but I also had the pleasure and the honor to play the closing set of the night. I admit, this DJ set has been particularly furious, a true techno rave like I haven’t been playing for a while, after my exploration of the power-house beats from Suara – but I liked it, and everybody has been dancing like it’s Berling circa 1996. Technically, this one has not been mixed while flying, but while hanging out in a Maasai Mara Lodge in Kenya, right before flying back to Italy. I mixed it at a very low volume and no pre-fade listening (hence the couple of mix fuckups), so I could have been able to enjoy it in my headphones for the first time only when I was on the flight back home, a few hours later. Does it counts as in-flight entertainment? =) Also, it’s kind of different from the music I usually play – consider this something like a chillout session for a Maasai warrior!
