Introducing my new Burningmax Time Machine project. Starting today I will publish every month a mix that goes back in time. Not so back anyway, I’ll keep it contained to this century. Let’s start with the first instalment in the Burningmax Time Machine series, a mix entirely dedicated to the tunes I loved to play in my DJ sets, and that have been released in 2009, the year that I actually started DJing. Each mix of the Time Machine series is meant to be pretty eclectic, as I create a sound journey that goes through techno, house, drum’n’bass, progressive electronica, psychedelic beats, chill dance, and even ambient, if needed. I hope you will enjoy the trip down memory lane of the Burningmax Time Machine as much as I did! BURNINGMAX TIME MACHINE: 2009 DJSET PLAYLIST :: The Soul, Pt. Playing trance and psy-trance is definitely fun. I still prefer progressive techno, but every time I play trance I definitely feel its power on decks. And on the dancefloor. I have been going to Boom Festival, home to psychedelic and psy-trance culture, for the last three editions. Being the festival a biannual event, I’ve been a “boomer” for the last 6 years, and I feel that it’s about time for a little homage to the Boom community, of both boomers and musicians. We are One. Here are some of my favorite “classic” Boom artists: Zen Mechanics, Loud, Ace Ventura, E-Clip, Avalon, and many others – plus some good recent Goa trance and a couple of progressive trance tunes, all mixed up with some massive pounding hypnotic techno – enough to create a synergy with trance and to make it “smell like Boom spirit”. A little “numerology trick” here, and another homage to last year’s Boom Festival edition. Boom 2016 was all about the numerology of number 3. 33,333 participants tickets, 3,333 admissions to Utopia the after-Boom and, unfortunately, 3 casualties among the participants of the festival. This is why you’ll find this trance mix to be “cut” at exactly 3 hours, 33 minutes, 33 seconds and 333 milliseconds – which means the total play time is 3:33:33:333. =) BURNINGMAX :: FEELS LIKE BOOM SPIRIT DJSET PLAYLIST :: Come with Us (Lish Remix) – Ace Ventura + Zen Mechanics :: Underbeat (Future Frequency Remix) – Astrix :: Sacred Rituals – Mindbenderz :: Idanha – Kundalini :: Mother (Fur Coat Remix) – Denis Horvat :: Spectrum (Original Mix) – Akoustik ::...

Due to a number of things that happened last summer, including switching to a new laptop and moving to Barcelona, I thought I lost the recording of the live djset I played at the Manrusionica festival last June in Manresa (Barcelona). I’m very happy that I just found the recording of the live set in a back-up disk, so let me post it here before I lose it again! =) Manrusionica launched in 2011 as a collaborative 2.0 festival of electronic music and visual arts. This year at its second edition it replicated last year’s success by filling up with acts and live gigs the entire city of Manresa for 24 hrs, covering a large number of indoor and outdoor areas of the city with a full festival of electronic culture. Did I mention that Manrusionics is a no profit event and that access to all gigs, acts and performance areas is free for the public? Well done Manrusionica! Here are a couple of promo/trailers plus the official Manrusionica 2012 video. Since I’ve been invited to play during the day (4-5PM) at one of outdoor stages, I decided to play one of my 420 Sessions, I hope you’ll enjoy it! I wrote a blog entry for the Manrusionica blog, announcing the project and explaining what is a 420 Session. I’m also very happy that my name showed up in the official festival poster, that was posted everywhere in Catalunya last June, including in Barcelona during the mighty Sonar Festival! =) Finally, here is my Manrusionica 2012 live set!
