I haven’t played much live this year, but I’ve been stacking up tons of massive tunes. Last month I figured out that I’ve been listening to plenty of great music that I’ve never shared with anybody else, and what’s worst is that I didn’t even tried to pass it on decks. So I said “Fuck it, let’s empty the summer crates on Traktor and see what happens”. What happened was that the selection alone took almost an entire month… and I ended up with three different mix, even if more than 90% of the tunes didn’t made the selection. Bummer. Anyway, there’s enough music to keep everybody happy: 4 hours of relaxing electronica, 2 hours of uplifting dance music, and further 90 minutes of massive beats – music for all tastes! Since the whole idea started with a “Fuck it” (without the hypocrisy of the asterisks), the decision about the name of this multiple studio DJ set was immediate: introducing Burningmax’s F Trilogy! Take it personally or not, I hope you enjoy it. Introducing LoveHate, a double set of DJ mix that explore the duality (or the bipolarism) of life. LoveHate has been recorded on January 1st, 2014 – a sort of personal rite of passage which I’m now happy to share with all my friends and followers. There is no first and second part in this double set, but I recorded LoveHate :: Love first. Love first. Always remember. It starts a bit downtempo but gets groovy pretty soon, then wanders into a variety of types of electronica: house, soul, techno, trance, dubstep, progressive… I also threw in a few ambient loops and a remixed classic track. This is the DJ set I prepared for Fatturato, the afterparty of Venduto at CarnemVale 2013 in Milan – but I didn’t had the chance to play it. The afterparty, organized at the Q21 Club in Milan, was scheduled 6AM-noon, and I was supposed to play my set from 10 to 12. Everything went pretty well from 6 to 9 – the club was nice and so the music, people dancing with a very happy afterparty mood – but at 9AM the organizers told me the club owners wanted to close earlier (at 10AM) so they asked me to rush at the decks and play my set. By the time I got everything set up it was 9.15-9.20 and, after only 10 minutes of djset, while everybody was happy on the dancefloor, the bouncers came up and, in a very rude way, they shut everything off. They said the reason was that the bar was not cashing in, so they decided to send everybody home. Just like this. Whatever – I moved on to my friends’ house and I played my set anyway and we all had fun. This is what you missed, Q21!
