I’m very proud to introduce my latest studio mix, SEPTEMBER. The name is not only due to the fact that I’m releasing this in September (duh), but mostly because all the tracks I mix are fresh from being released this month (September 2021), the majority of them just last weekend, while the “oldest” track is from “way back” on September 2. After all the chill, house and eclectic stuff I’ve released over the last year, mostly for fun and to kick covid depression out of the door, with this studio mix I’m finally back to the true Burningmax sound. Can’t wait to play this shit live! Soon, I hope… 🥁 Massive beats? Sure! 🎸 Big bass? Of course! 🔊 Funktion One dancefloor ready? You betcha! 😱 Psychedelic soundscapes? Check. 😛 Acid loops and drops? Yeah baby. 😎 Berlin and Detroit? Always on my mind, in my heart, and on my decks. 🏴☠️ Weird and grime sounds? Just round the corner. 😇 Blissful progressive chords? They’re right there. 🔥 And the rave? It’s on! 🎶 Harmonic mixing? Not really my thing, but I did it this time and it sounds fantastic! 🙏 Laurent Garnier? He’s in twice, with two new singles both released last Friday, one of them also “manipulated” by your truly Burningmax. No more to say. Just press play, dance and let it go. Volume all the way up, headphones recommended to maximize your sound journey, and to avoid your neighbours calling the police because there’s an illegal rave next door. Six months ago, back in December 2020, I tried to develop a project aimed at helping out our burners community from a specific standpoint, the mental health unbalance that has impacted pretty much all of us as an outcome of almost one year and a half of pandemic crisis and social isolation from covid19 pandemic lockdowns. Depression, anxiety, loneliness, but also fear, sometimes panic or rage, and loss and grief. This is just the tip of the iceberg of a humanity being broken by the terrible experience we all collectively shared. I wanted to help, at least within the (not so) small circle of our community, by offering something that would have brought some sort of emotional support to my brothers and sisters in dust. What I envisioned wasn’t certainly the next Zoom event with DJs and virtual kinky workshops. We already did many of those, including the DomusBurn virtual event we organized exactly one year ago. But that was one year ago, when we were still hoping the virus would have “gone away” by summer. Now we are way deeply broken, and we don’t need that shit anymore – our community needs something more meaningful than another Zoom DJ set. I thought to re-purpose the DomusBurn website into a community-focused platform designed to offer emotional support through peer-to-peer group counseling. No DJs and virtual parties, this time a simple 5-6 hours event on a Saturday afternoon, with a simple gathering space and two tracks, one for the group counseling, the other with holistic seminars on how to get out of a deep hole in pursuit of wellness, would...

Bedrock’s Ambient Remix of Humate’s 3.2 is a classic massive chilled tune from 90’s Ibiza “balearic” club culture. I recently bumped into this track a couple of times in the same day, so I decided to “drop it” in a recent chillout mix, by slowing it down a lot, and mashing it up with loops and beats from other three tracks: “The Divine” by Aphrohead, “Philharmonic (Definition Remix)” by Alex Flatner + Lopazz, and “Manaka” by Canna. I loved the outcome, so I’ve decided to work on this track a bit more, throwing in additional layers of beats and sounds using MASCHINE’s loop base – all mashed up and remixed on Traktor S4. The result is a groovier version of 3.2 – introducing “Three Point Three (Infinite Burningmax Rework)”. Enjoy! The Nowhere festival has now consolidated Acid Friday as a tradition on the Friday of the week-long event. On Acid Friday all art, workshop, altered consciousness and of course music get a psychedelic spin. Being a resident at the Funktion One-propelled theme camp (barrio) Garden of Joy, I have been embracing over the last years Acid Friday with a DJ performance focused on delivering psychedelic beats for our dancefloor. Check out my Nowhere 2016’s acid night 3hrs+ DJ set that started at 4AM and ended up past 7AM. I kicked off with some massive trippy techno, then moved into all kind of acid and drug-inspired deep house and bass music, and eventually “came down” on mellow psychedelic notes as the sun was coming up – also because all psychedelic trips must come to an end, otherwise they turn into bad trips… =) Enjoy this dancefloor trip!!! BURNINGMAX LIVE :: ACID FRIDAY @ NOWHERE 2016 DJSET PLAYLIST Sorry the playlist is uncomplete, as I’ve been jamming with no pre-arranged playlist, but I guess you can Shazam the set to figure out most of the tunes! Anyway, you’ll find massive tracks from Circuit Breaker, Borrowed Identity, 80xx, Maelstrom, LA-4A, Madame, Siriusmo, Moderat, Octave One, Turmspringer, Samuel Fach, Audion, Cedric Gervais, George Morel, Paul Woolford, Kink, Luna Semara and many more psychedelic tunes. Burningmax presents: The F Trilogy I haven’t played much live this year, but I’ve been stacking up tons of massive tunes. Last month I figured out that I’ve been listening to plenty of great music that I’ve never shared with anybody else, and what’s worst is that I didn’t even tried to pass it on decks. So I said “Fuck it, let’s empty the summer crates on Traktor and see what happens”. What happened was that the selection alone took almost an entire month… and I ended up with three different mix, even if more than 90% of the tunes didn’t made the final selection. Bummer. Anyway, there’s enough music to keep everybody happy: 4 hours of relaxing electronica, 2 hours of uplifting dance music, and further 90 minutes of massive beats – music for all tastes! Since the whole idea started with a “Fuck it, let’s do it” (without the hypocrisy of the asterisks), the decision about the name of this multiple studio DJ set was immediate: introducing Burningmax’s F Trilogy: Chill the Fuck Out, Shut the Fuck Up and Dance, Fuck Off and Rave. Click on the images below to listen, download and dance to the new studio mixes! Fuck yeah!...

A new remix from the Burningmax Studios, and this time “the victim” is a classic tune from Caribou, Sun. The remix starts “almost” as the original track, with a few added loops in the background, until it reach a crossover point with the remix of the same track from Altrice’s “Only What You Gave Me” Remix, which is where I kick in with a full arsenal of loops, to go epic. I hope you like my take on this classic of electronica… =) Note: I had to go through a lot to be able to share this. SoundCloud removed it at first, saying there was a copyrigth infringement, even if I was clearly stating that it was a remix, and that all the rights go to the respective owners. MixCloud didn’t want the tune, as it is “too short” to be a podcast… grrrr… so I had to make a YouTube video (with further loss of sound quality). And then, magically, I won the dispute with MixCloud, so their editorial team put the remix back. Yeay! CARIBOU’S SUN :: BURNINGMAX REMIX I made this tune just for fun and not for commercial use. My three DJ sets at the Barcelona Burning Bash Weekend (also and even better known as BBB) are immediately available online by popular demand. Over the last months, while I have been recording all my DJ sets, I never had the time to actually timecode them, upload them to MixCloud, and create the relative blog posts. But this time here they are, merely one week after the event, and all three of them! So here we go, a deep techno set with some rave, old school moments, one morning dance set for a crowd who still wanted to keep grooving, and a sweet afternoon set in the sun by a pool – all in the same blog post, for faster sharing! One technical note: since we had some problens with acoustics at the main stage of BBB, the sets played there have very little bass – I guess you can fix that manually by pumping the bass up in your device. The poolside set has a more balanced sound, and very chilly dance tunes. Enjoy them all! =) BURNINGMAX LIVE @ BBB 2015 :: DANCING IN THE SUN BY THE POOL Probably the BBB 2015 DJ set I had more fun with. All my friends dancing in the sun to mellow tunes, a perfect day spent poolside, and finally an outdoor sound system with no problems with the bass. Loved it! OK, go ahead and tell me that I’m obsessed with Laurent Garnier. Yes I am, he’s really the Master of the dancefloor, no matter the “temporary” dancefloor trends. Also, it’s the spirit of Monsieur Garnier that inspire me, even more than the music itself (that too). Did I tell you that this year I will visit Garnier’s FestivalYEAH! in the South of France, and I have booked two Ableton masterclass sessions with Scan X? =) So guess what’s my new remix about… =) The original track that I have used as a base for this remix is Scalextric, a massive groove by techno killers Pig+Dan, this time partnering with Alberto Ruiz for the job. As soon as I have heard this tune, I have immediately pictured in my mind as a perfect groove base for Laurent Garnier’s 1993 classic Crispy Bacon. A few loop cuts on my Traktor S4 and the new Evercrispy was born! I hope you enjoy it. One note: this is the very first take of my Evercrispy remix. Of course I have tried other versions – one at the original Crispy Bacon’s 130 bpm, another one veeeeery slow at 120 bpm, and several versions at 125, 127 and 128 bpms, all different also in terms of loop jamming. But after the long Evercrispy session, I decided to stick with the very first recording, at 126 bpm. Love at first beat, I would say…. =) BURNINGMAX REMIXES :: SCALEXTRIC / EVERCRISPY I hope you enjoyed the remix – I’m sure you did if you’re an old-schooler! =) This remix is just for fun and not for...

More video soundtracks after the ones produced for Pitti Uomo. This latest production exercise is mostly my first chance to explore a bit my new Traktor F1. A friend asked me to produce a techno soundtrack for a backstage video of a fashion photo shoot. There was no money involved so of course I said yes and produced 6 variations of the same track! You know me… =) The video, still under production, has been shot using the time lapse technique, which inspired me also while putting the tracks together. Video time at 2min was a big challenge because in a short time I had to create an intro, an outro, and something in between with a bit of variations – basically, a mini-tune! From remixing to producing – this is for commercial purposes, three 1’30” soundtrack for Pitti Uomo 2012’s post-event videos. Yes, commercial destination – but I didn’t sell my soul to the big fashion event. I did the soundtracks for free, and only because I have some friends who are working on Pitti’s communication, and they needed a soundtrack for the video, quickly. So I plugged my Traktor S4, explored the 1.4 Gb of loops graciously gifted by Native Instrument with the release of Traktor 2.5, and got myself at work. Result?
